Hi, I’m Aly, a professional singer and vocal coach with over 15 years of teaching experience. I trained at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and have had an international career as a singer and performer, working across jazz, pop, harmony, improvisation and contemporary voice. My own vocal journey hasn’t always been easy. I struggled for years with a difficult vocal break, losing my voice in noisy environments because I didn’t yet know how to access enough power without strain, and getting frequent sore throats. Working through those challenges — with some of the UK’s leading vocal coaches, as well as through my own exploration — completely changed the way I understand and teach the voice. One of the things I’m most passionate about now is collapsing the learning curve for my students. There are things that took me years to understand in my own voice that, with the right guidance, can often be recognised and worked with much more quickly. I love helping students avoid unnecessary frustration and reach breakthroughs in a matter of weeks rather than spending years trying to figure everything out alone.
